Valentine Huggie Bears
Handmade from the Taos Pueblo
These little bears are made from Micacous Clay — traditionally used by the Pueblos of northern New Mexico to make pottery, cookware and ceremonial objects.
A note when ordering
Each bear is handmade and fired making each of them unique. I have categorized the bears into size groups, but each will have a unique face, color, and personality.
About the Artist
Jason Mondragon is a Native American artist from the Taos Pueblo. He has been featured in the book Pueblo Stories and Storytellers by Mark Bahti and has had his work collected world wide. His first recognition came only recently in 2025 from the Gallup Inter-Tribal Indian Ceremonial, an accomplishment he was able to share with his mother before she passed.
Jason has been crafting his Huggy Bears since he was 15 years old. They are non-ceremonial in nature. For him they are representative of love and family.
