R.C. Gorman - “the Picasso of American Indian Art”

The dates of the 2020 - 3rd annual R.C. Gorman Days are still being set.

 

The 2nd Annual R.C. Gorman Days festival was held the weekend of July 26 – 28, 2019 in and around Taos Plaza and historic Ledoux Street Galleries - Taos, NM with events all weekend. Below is calendar of the events held:

R.C. Gorman Day - Taos New Mexico July 26 – 28, 2019

-Friday, July 26, 4:00-5:00pm Tour and Talk on Navajo weavings with Chris Ferguson at Tres Estrellas Design, 208-A Ranchitos Rd.

-Friday, July 26, 5:30-6:30pm Tour and Talk on Carl Gorman & RC Gorman and Michael Anaya-Gorman art at Michael Gorman Gallery, 103 East Plaza, Suite B

-Friday, July 26, 6:00-8:00pm Private reception for participating artists.... at R.C. Gormans original home gallery and studio at 230 Ledoux Street. Now the private home of Don Zillioux & Victoria Zillioux.

- Saturday July 27, 10:00-11:30am Walking architectural tour of historic Ledoux Street and the Ledoux Street Galleries - Taos, NM with visits to Linda Rauch Gallery and Inger Jirby Gallery and Guesthouses. Meet in courtyard of The Harwood Museum of Art at 10am.

-Saturday, July 27, 10:00am -5:00pm “Past Meets Present” Contemporary Native American Art Market......
Featuring artists; DeAnna Autumn Leaf Suazo, Bobby Bales, Jay Smiley, JJ Otero, Latham Nez, Michael Nez, Emery Nez Whitefield, Ivan James Concha and others. At the E. L. Blumenschein House And Museum Courtyard 222 Ledoux Street

-Saturday July 27, 5:00-8:00pm Benefit Event for Taos Arts Council. Held at 230 Ledoux Street, the former Home/Gallery/Studio of the late RC Gorman. Admission is $50 per person includes a raffle ticket to win an original RC Gorman limited edition serigraph titled "De la Noche," hand signed and newly custom framed by Zia Custom Frames. The work was graciously donated by the Taos County Chamber of Commerce. Tickets available at Michael Gorman Gallery and are $25 per ticket. Raffle starts June 25th and continues through September 19th with winning ticket pulled at Taos Fall Arts Festival, opening reception, September 20, 5pm-8pm, 2019, at Guadalupe Parish Gymnasium.
