A first-generation American artist from Albuquerque, New Mexico,  Blando Bland specializes in contemporary mixed media murals with a street graffiti influence which can be fairly described as "fine art that's not afraid to get a little messy".

 

Blando Bland first began painting in 2007, and in 2010 he enrolled in the Art Program at Central New Mexico Community College. He wanted to be the first in his family to go to college in America. While there he focused his attention on developing his skills in traditional oil and acrylic which he would later mix with his graffiti style.

His paintings reflect the surroundings in which he grew up. New Mexico's vast landscape of endless skies filled with clouds of every hue and texture are present in the vibrant colors he uses to fill his pieces. A soft smooth, beautiful transition from hue to hue transposed with the bold, sometimes jagged lines of figures in the foreground.
